About Twila

Meet gentle giant Twila! She’s a bashful soul who starts out timid, but the presence of other animals helps her quickly warm up. Twila became especially attached to the resident dachshund-beagle mix, Nugget, and it would be ideal to see them adopted together. She’s a true shadow dog, quietly trailing you just for the comfort of your company, and she absolutely soaks up gentle words and affection. Twila takes treats carefully and is especially kind with cats and dogs of every size and age—she just wants to settle in with the pack and belong. Though she does well with children, her nerves don’t hold up around sudden or loud commotion, so rowdy, noisy kids can overwhelm her. She’s house trained and finds ease in daily routine. Twila is low-maintenance with no appetite for drama, simply happiest in the fold of a family, being cherished and included. She’s a pro on leash, soft-natured, and fits the classic Great Dane mold: giant in stature and even bigger in heart. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
