About Kiwi

Adorable little Kiwi never stood a chance on his own. He was found tied to a pole and abandoned, left there like he didn’t matter. When the police picked him up, they brought him to a kill shelter—another terrifying place where his life hung by a thread. We rescued Kiwi before he could fall into the wrong hands again… or be lost forever simply because the shelter had no space left. Now he’s safe and waiting for the happy ending he’s always deserved. Kiwi is a sweet, affectionate 3-year-old husky mix who absolutely melts for his people. When he feels safe and relaxed, he’s incredibly cuddly, gentle, and loving — a true companion dog who bonds deeply and wants nothing more than to be by your side. Kiwi is also a sensitive boy who can become easily overstimulated in busy or noisy environments. The city is overwhelming for him, and he thrives best in a quieter, more rural or suburban home where he has the space to decompress. He will shine with an adopter who understands Husky traits, embraces routine, is active and has a calm lifestyle. Kiwi has shown that with low stimulation, gentle structure, and consistent guidance, he settles beautifully and his sweet personality comes forward. He’s a smart, loyal dog who wants to do the right thing — he just needs the right setting to feel secure. Kiwi is great with dogs and is very possibly good with cats. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He now weighs 45 lbs but will likely be 55 lbs once he gains weight. A home with a fenced in yard and where at least one person works from home would be ideal. Foster-to-adopt option available.
