About Max!
Make their next chapter their best one yet. Max is a 6-year-old, 71-pound male Akita/Husky mix with one striking blue eye and a gentle soul. Neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and fully house trained, Max hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home. Max truly loves life and is as beautiful as he is intelligent. He’s an obedient dog, eager to learn and incredibly in tune with the people around him. He already knows most commands and picks up on training quickly, enjoying the process of working with a handler. With a little patience and space, Max forms strong bonds with people, and once he feels safe, his calm, happy personality truly shines. His journey wasn’t easy—after being abandoned at a shelter in NY and placed on the euthanasia list, Max was very frightened. He avoided walks and was unsure of people, only eating treats after humans stepped away. Yet, at his foster home, he started trusting immediately and grew more comfortable every day. Now, after some time, Max is delightfully calm and enjoys being around people. Max loves going for walks, exploring new places, and taking car rides. He’s also got a sweet, playful side—carrying his favorite toys (like his duck, avocado, and little mouse) around with him. Structure helps him thrive, and he enjoys relaxing in his crate after outings. Though initially shy, once Max trusts you, he becomes a loyal and devoted companion. He’s searching for a peaceful, patient home where he can continue to blossom. With love and understanding, Max will reward you with a lifetime of devotion. Ready to fall in love?
