About Copper
Copper is a bright, energetic dog with a playful spirit and sweet personality. At just about 3 years old and 51 pounds, he stands out with a beautiful mix of white, tan, and black short fur. Believed to have some Australian Shepherd in his lineage, along with Belgian Shepherd and possibly Greyhound or Carolina Dog, Copper brings a lot of character to the table. He bounces back from a tough start—surviving a severe respiratory infection at a shelter that almost cost him his life. Now thriving, Copper is enrolled in a training program and doing well with leash walking, crate training, and learning house manners. Copper loves to run, hike, and will happily become your workout partner. He gets along well with other active, playful dogs and enjoys tug-of-war games at daycare or the dog park. Copper is living with a foster family who reports ongoing progress with his training and social skills. He’s also known for being friendly and affectionate, especially with children, making him a great fit for a lively family. Copper will be transported to New Jersey for adoption—so meeting in person is possible but requires coordinating his arrival. He’s vaccinated, neutered, and ready for a place to call home.
