About Skye
Skye is a four-to-five-year-old Shar Pei and Pit Bull mix in Lynnwood, WA who has spent four years waiting for a real home. She weighs about 45 lbs and thrives on human companionship. Skye loves playing ball and is happy to relax on the couch after an active romp. Her ideal family offers plenty of love, structure, and patience—she’s a smart girl who enjoys training and recently finished a six-week course with a local trainer. Skye already knows commands like sit, lay down, spin, and wait, and will do just about anything for treats. Living in a kennel long-term has been tough on her, so she’ll need time and help decompressing in a quieter environment. Skye can be reactive to other dogs on leash, especially if they are over-excited, though she’s managed well in structured classes and calm settings with proper introductions. She isn’t a fit for homes with cats or small animals and needs a standalone house instead of crowded apartments or close city neighborhoods. Kids over 12 are ok, as Skye gets bouncy and is still learning to take treats gently. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and more than ready to finally settle into a loving home. Questions about Skye
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Skye, as a Shar Pei/Pit Bull mix, will do best in a standalone home with a yard, where she can have space and calm surroundings. These breeds are typically not suited to apartments or busy neighborhoods, especially if they’re reactive to noise or other dogs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Skye and her breed mix appreciate a yard or access to outdoor space for play and decompression. A securely fenced area where she can run and fetch is ideal.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Skye would be best with children over 12 due to her energy and tendency to jump when excited. Her breed mix is often very loyal and loving but may accidentally knock smaller kids over.
