RJ is a 6Ā½-year-old mixed-breed dog with a striking blend of American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Boxer, and German Shepherdāathletic, sharp, and as loyal as they come. Rescued from a tough start in Texas and then adopted in Washington, RJ has learned how to trust and love his people fiercely. He bonds deeply with those he knows, greeting you with wags and enthusiastic kisses before settling in with a toy. He thrives on daily activity: running, hiking, fetch, and long walks are his perfect outlets, especially with familiar people and bigger female dogs. RJ is a toy enthusiast (and destroyer if unsupervised) who enjoys training sessions for mental stimulation and is quick to pick up new commands. Once heās worked off his energy, heās all about cozy napping on the couch or dog bed. RJ needs a home with space to roamāan apartment isnāt ideal, he does best with secure fencing and a yard. He isnāt safe with cats, small animals, or young children due to his prey drive and resource guarding.
