She is small in size, spayed, totally house trained, and has special needs that will require patience from her adopter. She continues to make progress every day and is looking for a home where she can keep thriving.
About Henny Penny
Henny Penny spent a long time in a confiscation situation and has been with her foster for over a year. She’s blossomed during her time in rescue, moving from a frightened pup to a funny, affectionate companion—once she trusts you. Patience is key: it took months for her to approach her humans on her own, but now she craves being with her people, even though she’s not a fan of being picked up. She’s gentle and handles car rides like a pro, does zoomies in the yard, and loves playing with toys. She’s completely housebroken, crate trained, and steadily improving on leash, though that’s still a work in progress. Henny Penny gets along brilliantly with other dogs, always seeks the company of canine friends, and needs another playful dog in her future home. She can be cautious around new experiences, and her ideal adopter is someone with knowledge of dog behavior and the patience to let her flourish at her own pace. Henny Penny must have a fenced yard and will benefit from ongoing socialization. With time and love, she’ll give back her whole heart. Born June 19, she's a Gemini—so she keeps things interesting. How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chihuahuas like Henny Penny appreciate a safe, fenced yard to play and zoom around in, though they don’t need a large outdoor space. Short walks and play sessions meet their needs.
