About Cody
Cody is looking for a permanent home after being found injured on the Colorado plains. He had surgery and physical therapy and now gets around well, though he sometimes favors his leg from old habits. Cody, a cowboy Corgi mix about 1.5 years old and 25 pounds, thrives with another friendly dog and people who won’t leave him alone for long stretches. He’s house trained and crate trained, but gets so excited when his people come home he sometimes has a little leak. Like many young dogs, he needs supervision to help him chew on the right things, so make sure to have tough dog chews handy. Cody hasn’t met cats or small kids—he can be herdy, so homes with cats aren’t recommended, and children should be 12 or older. He walks well on a leash and likes treats, sleeping quietly in a dog bed at night. In new situations Cody can be shy, and he’s still warming up to car rides, but quick trips to fun places are helping. For Cody, a securely fenced yard is a must—he loves to run and is not suited for apartment living. He’ll bark when excited, so anyone adopting him should be comfortable with a little Heeler noise. Basic manners training would help Cody gain confidence and bond with his people. Give Cody the active family life he needs and some patience as he continues growing up. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Cody
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Cody, like most Corgi/Cattle Dog mixes, needs a secure fenced yard with plenty of room to exercise. Daily play and strolls are important to keep him healthy and content.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Cody’s breed tends to be herdy and energetic, so they’re best with older children or teens who are comfortable around active, sometimes vocal dogs.
