Stacy is a 1-year-old sweetheart who came in as an owner surrender on October 10. She is heartworm positive, but the shelter will provide treatment free of charge. Stacy is dog friendly and currently enjoys the company of Ricky as her pal. She is very affectionate and a belly rub fanatic, preferring snuggles over walks, though she enjoys walks as well. In unfamiliar situations, she can be a bit timid on leash and may need gentle coaxing, often responding by stopping, dropping, and rolling over for belly rubs when nervous. Stacy is still puppyish and a little jumpy for snacks. She kind of knows "sit", but will benefit from more practice. Highly treat motivated, she should be very easy to train. Overall, Stacy is a complete love and a friendly, social dog who adores people and enjoys positive interaction. We suggest when placed that the 3-3-3 Rule be followed — allowing 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routine, and 3 months to feel fully settled.
