About Kate
Kate is one of 29 dogs rescued from a difficult situation in North Alabama when their former caretaker was suddenly hospitalized. She spent her early days in stressful, crowded conditions—scared but never aggressive, just overwhelmed by so much change. Staff and volunteers spent hours bringing her to safety, earning her eventual trust and seeing the sweetness beneath the uncertainty. Now safe in Loxahatchee, Kate gets the medical care and nourishing food she needs. She’s learning what it means to walk on a leash and how good it can feel to be gently petted and spoken to kindly. She has discovered that patience leads to comfort, and Kate’s starting to show her genuine, loving nature as she learns to trust people again. Kate gets along with other dogs and is steadily adjusting to the stability and calm she has long deserved. In the right home, she will repay your compassion tenfold with affection and loyalty. She’s waited a long time to find someone who won’t forget her. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
