About Sweet Tayda
Sweet Tayda is her own brand of hound—brash, unapologetic, and full of personality. She’s a large, senior coonhound with a hearty appetite and an affinity for tearing up stuffed toys, reliving her glory days as a hunter. Tayda keeps life interesting, constantly serenading everyone with Gretchen Wilson and Tanya Tucker, and she prefers her porch lights on year-round. She’s been through the city shelter shuffle and didn’t care for it—cats are an absolute no for her, and she’d rather not share her home with kids vying for her chicken nuggets. Ideally, she should be the only dog, but she’s tolerated sharing space with another older hound pal, Laith, who might be just as wild as she is. Tayda won’t mold herself into picture-perfect obedience—she comes as she is: funny, happy, friendly, and just glad to be alive. If you appreciate a hound who stands her ground and brings a little country (and a lot of humor) to the family, Sweet Tayda is waiting. She’s spayed and fully vaccinated, so you’re getting a dog ready to roll. Augusta Dog Adoptions hopes you’re the hound lover ready to let Tayda keep her free spirit. What are you waiting for? Questions about Sweet Tayda
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Sweet Tayda, a Coonhound mix, thrives in a home with space to move about, ideally with a secure yard and plenty of room to stretch her legs—she's not built for apartment life.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
As a Coonhound, Sweet Tayda would be happiest with ample outdoor space, like a large fenced yard, where she can safely sniff around and decompress.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Coonhounds can be loving, but given Sweet Tayda's preferences and the breed's sometimes stubborn streak, her ideal home would not include young children.
