About Bucky
Bucky joined the rescue as part of the President's Day Litter born on February 17, 2020. He settled quickly into a home at first, but returned to the rescue when the family dynamic changed, and he struggled with young kids and too much activity. This coonhound mix is happiest curled up for couch cuddles or stretching his legs with a proper walk or backyard exploring. Food is the key to his heart and he's clever—a quick learner for anyone willing to bring treats, especially for showing off his "sit" and "shake." Bucky really needs to be the only animal in the house, as he doesn’t care to share attention. He can be timid and needs a slow approach, but he bonds fiercely once trust is established, making him an excellent companion for the right person. Sudden noises or strangers moving too fast might make him nervous, so Bucky’s ideal adopter is gentle and patient. He should be placed in a home with adults or older kids (12+) who respect his space. Bucky is ready for a quieter, understanding household where he’ll be more than willing to return loyalty and love. Think you could be the gentle friend he’s waiting for? What are you waiting for?
