About Bear

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Meet Bear! Bear arrived at AWS after his previous family, despite deeply loving him, had to make the difficult choice to surrender him due to unforeseen hardships. Now, he’s searching for a fresh start and a forever family to give him the love he deserves. Bear is a Saint Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix and already weighs 80 pounds at just under 9 months old—he’s expected to exceed 100 pounds once fully grown! Because of his impressive size, Bear will thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he has plenty of space to run and play; he’s not cut out for apartment living. Energetic and delightfully goofy, Bear brings joy wherever he goes and simply wants to be loved. He’s likely to do well with children who can handle his bouncy personality and strength. Bear’s compatibility with cats is unknown, and a meet-and-greet is required to ensure he gets along with other dogs. As he is a strong and playful pup, a family experienced with large breeds or ready for some professional training would be ideal. Basic obedience classes and leash training will help him learn the manners he needs. Bear is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, so he’s ready to join your family right away. Fun fact: with a birthday of March 3, Bear is a Pisces, which means he is gentle, affectionate, and devoted to those he loves! Ready to give Bear the permanent, loving home he’s been waiting for? Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
