About Dakota

Meet Dakota, the resident escape artist with an adventurous streak and a love for mischief. Dakota came all the way from Oklahoma and wasted no time exploring his new surroundings, going on an unsupervised city adventure for over a month before landing safely in foster care. Since then, he’s made himself at home, showing off his playful and goofy side. Dakota’s happiest surrounded by other dogs—he absolutely needs a playful canine companion and gets along easily with dogs of any size. He’s even friendly with cats. Dakota knows the basics: he’s house and kennel trained, and his playful nature shines brightest when he’s shredding soft toys or turning your spare cardboard into confetti. He forms sweet bonds with people once he feels comfortable and loves offering affection and snuggles. Health-wise, Dakota is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations and preventatives. To be safe, Dakota will need a fenced yard, unless you’re a highly experienced dog owner who can manage his talents for escape. He’s a quirky character who keeps life interesting and deserves a dedicated human in Cedar Rapids, IA who can match his spirit. Click apply to start the adoption process.
