About Blitz
Say hello to Blitz! He’s a large, young Shepherd mix with a thick medium coat, about two years old, and currently in Cedar Rapids, IA. Blitz landed here as a stray near the end of 2025, then spent a month in a home where more of his personality came through. He has a sweet, loving nature and medium-to-high energy that fits an active household. Blitz proved himself confident around busy environments—children, other dogs, stores, even loud traffic didn't faze him. He’s gentle with people and responsive to clicker training. Grooming and crating aren't an issue. If you want a dog ready for adventure, Blitz is always up for a leash walk, a game of tug, or fetch. He plays rough with other dogs and doesn't always realize his size, so he’ll need canine friends close to his own build who understand his vocal, energetic style. While he generally gets along with other dogs, a meet and greet with your current pups is required, and he shouldn’t go to a home with cats. Since returning to the rescue, Blitz has shown some barrier reactivity to other dogs, which is new, but manageable for a committed adopter. Blitz is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He isn’t fully house trained yet but is eager to learn. If you’re ready for a confident, playful, loyal companion, Blitz could be your dog. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
