An Aussiedoodle is a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, so size varies a lot, from toy and mini dogs under 30 pounds to standards around 70. Coats are usually wavy or curly and come in many colors, including merle. Shedding is often light but not guaranteed, since some dogs inherit the Aussie undercoat.
Both parent breeds are clever, high-energy working dogs, and many Aussiedoodles share that drive. They tend to be affectionate and eager to learn, and they're happiest with a job such as agility, hiking or daily training games. Without enough exercise and mental work, some turn restless, vocal or clingy. In Houston, that means planning exercise around the heat and budgeting for professional grooming every six to eight weeks.
