About Little Old Gal Hazel

Meet Little Old Gal Hazel! This adorable 13-year-old Shih Tzu weighs just 7.8 lbs and has been spayed, chipped, and vetted. She was discovered in rough shape—skinny, flea-infested, and withdrawn. Now, despite her challenges, Hazel shows resilience that surprises everyone. Hazel is mostly deaf and has limited mobility in her back legs, but that doesn't slow her down. Every day brings small triumphs, from jumping over a log to navigating the steps. She enjoys couch cuddles with her foster dog sibling and loves to wander the yard. Although she’s Lyme positive and has stage 2 kidney disease, our vet advises waiting on treatment until she gains weight. Occasionally, she may have accidents indoors, but she uses pee pads and goes outside too. We're not looking for someone to provide medical care; rather, Hazel needs a loving home where she can live comfortably and peacefully. She's a gentle soul who deserves a family to cherish her.
