KYLE LOOKS LIKE HE SHOULD BE SACRIFICING VIKINGS TO THE MOON GODS. IN REALITY, HE WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A SUSPICIOUS LEAF TO THE AUTHORITIES. SOMEWHERE IN HIS ANCESTRAL BLOODLINE, A WOLF IS ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS. Kyle is a 2-year-old, 58-pound Siberian Husky who appears to have been sculpted by Odin to lead an army of wolves across the frozen tundra. Unfortunately, somebody installed the wrong software. HE HAS THE BODY OF A MYTHOLOGICAL PREDATOR AND THE EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE OF A 19TH-CENTURY DUCHESS WHO JUST LEARNED THE TEA IS DECAF. Kyle isn't aggressive. He's just nervous around unfamiliar people and situations, and deeply concerned that the universe is conducting activities without consulting him. "Kyle, we're going for a walk." "HAS THE OUTSIDE BEEN INSPECTED?" "Yes, Kyle." "BY WHOM?" "Me." "WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, YOU ALSO TRUST THE VACUUM CLEANER." Somewhere, his ancestors are howling beneath the northern lights, hunting elk, and battling blizzards. Kyle is wondering whether the new person in the living room has been fingerprinted. THE WOLF COUNCIL HAS CONVENED AN EMERGENCY MEETING. "Your ancestors conquered the wilderness, Kyle." "THAT SOUNDS VERY STRESSFUL." "They hunted enormous animals with their bare teeth." "I WOULD PREFER TO ORDER DELIVERY." But underneath this magnificent display of ancestral disappointment is an incredibly sweet, loving boy who just needs patience, reassurance, and time to feel safe. HE DOESN'T NEED AN ALPHA MALE. HE NEEDS A KIND HUMAN AND PERHAPS A SMALL COMMITTEE DEDICATED TO EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. Kyle is heartworm positive, and Take Paws Rescue will complete his treatment through our veterinarian. Once he learns to trust you, we suspect this majestic woodland creature will become a devoted companion who follows you everywhere, including places where you would ordinarily expect privacy. "Kyle, I need to use the bathroom." "I TRUST YOU NOW. THIS IS OUR BATHROOM." SOMEBODY PLEASE ADOPT THIS BEAUTIFUL, EMOTIONALLY DELICATE DESCENDANT OF ANCIENT WOLVES. HIS ANCESTORS SURVIVED THE ICE AGE. KYLE JUST WANTS TO SURVIVE A TRIP TO THE LIVING ROOM WITHOUT ANY SURPRISES. AND WHEN HE FINALLY FINDS HIS PEOPLE, THAT LITTLE WOLF HEART IS GOING TO LOVE THEM WITH EVERYTHING IT HAS. PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. *An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application* All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. ***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
