About Petal
Petal is a 1-year-old, 53-pound Plott Hound/Husky mix who stands out immediately—one blue eye, one brown, tall expressive ears, and a brindle and cream coat that looks more like artwork than fur. She’s still young, and it shows in her energy and curiosity: she’s playful, sometimes a little chaotic, but always engaging. Her enthusiasm for children is big and genuine—she loves them, though she’s still figuring out how not to show it by bowling them over in her excitement. With other dogs, Petal may be cautious at first, but time and the right introduction brings out her friendly, playful side. Wrestling matches with her foster brother are a regular occurrence now, and her social skills keep growing. She’s curious about cats and, with supervision, is making steady progress—a good fit for homes with dog-savvy cats. Training is ongoing; Petal is crate trained in progress and about halfway house trained, but consistent routines are helping her improve. She’ll need toys that can stand up to her bright mind and energy. Affection runs deep with her—she’ll always want to be part of what you’re doing, ready to learn and bond. Petal isn’t finished; she’s a work in progress who promises to be worth the journey. If you want a dog who’ll challenge, inspire, and connect deeply, she’s already waiting. Ready to fall in love?
