Zelda is a beautiful black Chow Chow/Pit Bull-type mix, approximately 9–10 months old and 40–45 lbs. Zelda and her sister Ripley had a very rough start to life. At just 3–4 months old, the two puppies survived a coyote attack and were rescued. After a lengthy quarantine and recovery, they have come a long way and are now healthy, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for their next chapter. Zelda has been raised around other dogs, cats, and older children. She has done well with female dogs, unlike her sister Ripley, and may be a candidate for a home with another well-matched, easygoing dog. At this age, Zelda is still learning and developing. She is food motivated and will benefit from continued positive-reinforcement training, consistent boundaries, and a family willing to help her grow into a well-mannered adult dog. Her ideal home would be with dog-experienced adopters who appreciate the importance of structure, patience, and consistency. A calmer household with older teenagers (ideally 12–14+) or adults would be a good fit. Zelda and Ripley are now in separate foster homes and are looking for individual families. They do not need to be adopted together. Zelda is currently in the Amarillo, Texas area.
