Percy is a large, adult male German Shepherd. Currently unaltered, he is affectionate and brimming with personality. Though he is not vaccinated yet, he is ready to find a forever home in Tucson, AZ where he can thrive.

About Percy

Meet Percy, an exceptional German Shepherd who is looking for a special home. His striking black-and-tan coat is complemented by a unique tongue dotted with purple spots, hinting at possible Chow Chow ancestry. Percy thrives on companionship and has proven to be incredibly loyal to his people, having spent four months in a previous home where he could showcase his playful and affectionate nature. Though lovable, Percy requires a specific environment to flourish. He needs an adult-only home due to discomfort around children, and he has a history of nipping when overwhelmed. With a high prey drive, Percy should not live with small animals or livestock. Providing him with a secure, fenced yard is essential to keep his escape artist tendencies in check. Percy also grapples with separation anxiety and shows resource guarding behaviors, which means he may do best as the only dog in the household or potentially with one other dog if his owners are committed to structured training. Dogs like Percy are a work in progress and need understanding and patience. If you're ready to help this stunning Shepherd mix find his true potential, visit Pima Animal Care Center to meet him. He can’t wait to show you his heart (and those cool purple spots!). Click apply to start the adoption process.
