About Sable

Meet Sable, a 9-year-old German Shepherd mix currently looking for her forever home in Tucson, AZ. This gentle girl can be quite shy and anxious, so she needs a patient family who will allow her the time to adjust to her new surroundings. Sable is a wonderful walking companion. She prefers a slower pace, sticking right by your side with a loose leash, and she genuinely seems happier when out exploring with you. While she may initially be hesitant around new people, with a calm approach, Sable opens up and shows her sweet nature. Volunteers describe her as an independent dog who sometimes needs a little encouragement, and they believe she has the potential to bond deeply with the right person. It's important for Sable to meet any resident dogs before adoption to ensure a good fit since she can be defensive in playgroups. She's looking for a stable and loving environment where she can decompress from her time at the shelter. If you believe you could be the caring match Sable is searching for, please reach out to learn more about her. Adoption or foster care for at least two weeks is available through PACC.
