Tilly is a little sweetheart with a big personality and a serious appreciation for the finer things in life (including fresh food, cozy naps, and being attached to her human at all times). Matilda is a low-energy Poodle mix who is equal parts cuddle bug and loyal little shadow. She loves being wherever her people are and will happily follow you from room to room. She is affectionate, gentle, and loves kisses. Matilda does not observe personal space. If you're looking for a tiny best friend who wants to be involved in absolutely everything you do, she's perfect. She can be shy and a little nervous when meeting new people. She may bark initially and can get uncomfortable if someone towers over her or raises their voice. But she is easily won over with a few treats and a little attention, and soon enough, she's quickly climbing into your lap. She just needs people who understand that she can be a little unsure at first and give her the chance to warm up. Matilda is fantastic with other dogs! She happily coexists with dogs of different personalities, including senior dogs and dogs who aren't particularly interested in playing. She is friendly when meeting new dogs and has never shown any barking or growling toward them. She is also good with cats. Most of the time she couldn't care less about them, although occasionally she gets a little playful and curious. She understands when a cat isn't interested and gives them space. She is mostly potty trained and does great with a consistent routine. She loves her crate and considers it her personal safe space. She goes in on her own when she's ready for a nap or feeling a little overwhelmed. She sleeps quietly in her crate overnight and does great when left home alone. No separation anxiety, no destructive behavior, and no crate accidents! On leash, Matilda is still learning. She can pull a bit, but because she's a small girl, she's very easy to redirect. She enjoys her neighborhood walks and does well around other dogs and people. She also enjoys playing with her favorite stuffed ducky, but she's not particularly interested in a collection of other toys. A few things to know about Matilda: she is sensitive to loud voices and can be nervous in new environments. She also takes her job as neighborhood watch VERY seriously. Doorbells, delivery drivers, and people outside the house will absolutely be reported. She is also a little particular about her food and prefers fresh food - she currently eats Just Food For Dogs. Matilda is: 5 years old 7lbs Low energy Great with other dogs Good with cats Mostly potty trained Crate trained and loves her crate No separation anxiety Still learning leash manners Loves short walks, stuffed toys, cuddles, and kisses *PLEASE NOTE: all of our dogs are fostered in Houston, TX, where our rescue is based. However, we work with trusted transport partners to transport our dogs to over 30 cities in the United States. Additionally, adopters are always encouraged to come to Houston to pick up the pup and bring them home. Once an adoption is confirmed, our team will work with you to determine the best transport schedule. Her transport fee is included in the adoption fee.
