Soft Spot for Spot! Observed lying in a field with his goats, Spot’s finder contacted us to assist in helping to locate his family. Spot’s owner was notified that he was at the shelter, as officers were familiar with his home. He is now with us, searching for his new family and this handsome boy can’t wait to meet them! His previous owner let us know that loves children, but has a tendency to want to chase cars. Since he has been with us, we have learned that this sweet boy does pull some when walking him on leash, but that will improve with consistency of leash training. He is very friendly with all of our staff and was so easy to handle for his exams! He met a similar sized neutered male while on leash and he wasn't sure at first. This sweet boy soon loosened up and was super playful. When he first saw his new pal, he had a high, fast tail wag - was a little stiff as they sniffed each other, but with play bows from his new friend, the zoomies soon took over both of them! This precious boy is now ready to zoom his way into his forever family’s life, who will keep him safe and away from chasing cars, goats or anything else and with them where he will be loved forever! Please come and ask to meet this sweet guy in person, to see if his forever is meant to be spent with YOU! Meet and greets with other dogs and children are always recommended. We don’t know how he does with cats and have no way to test for this. We are first come, first served, in person adoption center at 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC. Hours: Monday–Friday 12–5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.–2 p.m. The promise of forever with true love and compassionate care is what Spot is longing for, nothing less.
