Itâs very clear that she was never socialized because when she came to us, she was very scared of us but as she has settled in, she has gotten better. She will need someone that is patient with her and understand it takes time to build trust, can that be you? Sadly, she lost 16 teeth during her dental and had a mammary tumor removed that has been sent out. She also had a flea allergy but when her fur grows back and she puts her 2 pounds back on sheâll be one beautiful little lady. Look at her beautiful eyes donât you think she deserves a great home like yours? Our must haves for her are: ⢠Fenced in yard ⢠Other young to adult small dog or two for her to hang with and learn from ⢠Someone that can be home more than not ⢠Please no condos, high rises or apartments If you meet these requirements and want Mia to learn love and trust then please donât wait but give her the home she deserves. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshundâs back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
