Joe Joe is a 15-year-old male Shih Tzu who came to us due to his family's inability to care for him. He has lived harmoniously with children and cats, although he's a bit cautious around larger dogs, often using his bark to set boundaries when necessary. Despite his challenging grooming history, he showed resilience during his recent groom with us. Joe Joe faces several significant medical issues that we cannot manage fully. He is visually impaired, with a cataract in his right eye and a painful left eye that requires removal. His dental health is concerning as well, with severe disease and many missing teeth, prompting our vet to suspect most of his remaining teeth may need extraction. Additionally, Joe Joe has a heart murmur and a reducible umbilical hernia. Despite these obstacles, he maintains a cheerful spirit and enjoys affection from everyone around him. With the right care and a new home, he could truly thrive in his golden years. We're hoping to find a rescue that can take on his medical needs and give him the attention he deserves. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
