About Shadow

Handsome Shadow can’t wait to charm you! Estimated to be around 5 years old, he has a sweet personality that wins everyone over. His cuddly nature makes him the perfect companion for cozy evenings on the sofa or patio swing, where he loves to snuggle right in. With his lovely dark gray coat, Shadow earned his name not only for his appearance but for how he follows his foster mom around, soaking up all the affection he can find. We rescued him from an overcrowded shelter in Central California, saving him from the risk of euthanasia. Now, he’s thriving in foster care. Shadow enjoys a moderate energy lifestyle, making him an ideal friend for work-from-home scenarios or those enjoying their retirement. He’s a social butterfly, excitedly meeting new people with a wagging tail. His hobbies include exploring the backyard, pulling toys from his toy box, and basking in the sun. Although he has good house manners, he’ll need some training on commands like "sit" and "down". He’s comfortable around small dogs and could also excel as an only pet. While we haven’t introduced him to cats, he might adapt well to dog-savvy ones after a gradual introduction. Shadow could be a fantastic fit for families with children aged 10 and up. House-trained and recently neutered, he must be supervised at home for a while until his hormones settle. Shadow is also crate-trained, settling quietly in his crate at night and tolerating short periods alone during the day. With proper exercise, he might be fine in an apartment setting.
