He’s also heartworm tested, microchipped, and comes with a 3.5-pound bag of dog food upon adoption. Currently located in South Elgin, IL, he’s ready to find a loving home.

About Duke

Meet Duke, a sweet and loving Pit Bull Terrier who’s looking for his forever home. Duke came to Anderson Animal Shelter from a partner shelter in Oklahoma and is currently undergoing treatment for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for him during this process is with a caring family. If you choose to adopt Duke, the clinic team will support you throughout his treatment. The entire process usually lasts about three months and involves simple at-home care to ensure his recovery. With diligent care, his prognosis is excellent, and he will be back to his happy self! It's important to note that Heartworm is only transmitted through mosquitoes, so he’s safe to be around other animals once he's home. Stop by to meet Duke in person during adoption hours.
