Max is an absolute sweetheart who loves being the center of attention! His favorite things include curling up in someone's lap, going for car rides, & walks. He can be a little shy with new people, but a tasty treat is usually all it takes to win him over! Once he's comfortable, his affectionate personality shines through. He even knows how to sit pretty & give high fives! Max does well with children & other dogs who respect his space. He would not appreciate a home with a young and active dog who crowds him. Coexisting is best or he can be an only dog. He does also need fed separately due to food agression. He takes his lap time seriously though, & may growl if another dog approaches while he's snuggled up with his person. He's also completely fine with cats & small animals, just very curious about them! Max is potty trained, but doesn't mind wearing belly bands either! He does experience separation anxiety, especially when crated. He may whine or howl for quite a while before settling. His foster uses a sound machine to help him relax, & he'll need a patient family willing to help him become more comfortable spending time alone. Max also has some extra weight to lose! His future family must be committed to helping him reach a healthier weight through proper nutrition, portion control, & regular exercise with veterinary guidance. Thankfully, he already loves his walks! Max's ideal home is one where he'll receive plenty of love, have his boundaries respected, & be given the patience & consistency he needs to thrive. He will require regular grooming. Max's adoption fee is $200. He is fully vetted for 1 year, neutered, microchipped, & on monthly preventatives. He also just had a dental.
