Draco Male Labrador Retriever / Great Pyrenees Mix Draco has spent his entire life waiting for a chance to experience the world beyond a fenced-in enclosure. Now, that chance has finally arrived! If you've ever driven to Panther Creek State Park, chances are you've passed the large enclosure that once housed more than 15 dogs. Draco was born there and spent his entire life outdoors alongside his siblings, Astoria, Oreo, and Capri, and the other dogs in their family. When their owner became incarcerated, family members reached out for help, giving these dogs an opportunity for a new beginning. Now in the care of Noah's Arc Animal Rescue, Draco is making up for lost time! Draco is a happy, affectionate boy with a goofy personality that's sure to make you smile. He loves people, enjoys attention, and is especially enthusiastic when treats are involved! He's a sweet, food-motivated guy who's eager to experience everything life has to offer. And if you're wondering how a dog who has spent his entire life outdoors might adjust to living in a home, we have some encouraging news! Draco's sister, Capri, has already been adopted and is absolutely thriving! Capri was one of the more timid siblings, yet she's adjusted beautifully to family life and has even been doing wonderfully with housetraining. Her success is a wonderful reminder of just how much potential these dogs have when given the opportunity. Of course, every dog adjusts at their own pace, but we have every reason to believe Draco has a bright future ahead of him. He's spent his life surrounded by other dogs, but he's never had a family or home to call his own. We're hoping to find someone who will give him the patience, love, and opportunity to discover all the comforts of being a cherished companion. Draco has spent enough time watching the world from behind a fence. Now it's his turn to enjoy it! About Noah's Arc Animal Rescue Noah's Arc Animal Rescue is a nonprofit animal rescue serving East Tennessee since 1991. We are committed to rescuing homeless dogs and cats, providing the medical care they need, and helping them find loving, lifelong homes. Every Noah's Arc pet is adopted out spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea & tick prevention, dewormed, and examined by a veterinarian. Dogs are heartworm tested, and cats are FIV/FeLV tested when age appropriate. Interested in adopting? Complete an adoption application to begin the process of finding your newest family member.
