Lucy came into ACC as an owner surrender. She was surrendered due to her previous owners moving and being unable to take her with them. She came in with her daughter. Her owner states that Lucy is Friendly with strangers and that she plays gently with children. During her time in the care center she has been observed to have high levels of FAS and will avoid interaction with handlers at times. She has been observed to have a tucked wagging tail, and when handlers go to pet her she lip licks. She has allowed petting from the main handler during an assessment but avoided the other handlers. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
