Meet Billy, a loving 55-pound Pit Bull mix with a gorgeous brindle coat that you'll want to pet all day. At 4 years old, he has a gentle spirit and a heart eager for love and companionship. Billy enjoys spending his days by your side, soaking in affection and the reassurance that he's a good boy. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in California, Billy narrowly escaped a heartbreaking fate. His brother has found a forever home, and now it’s Billy’s turn. Though his past is uncertain, he's learning that he’s safe now, though he does experience mild separation anxiety. A patient adopter who can offer a consistent environment will be the best match for him. Billy thrives on human companionship and enjoys car rides. He does well with other dogs after proper introductions, but he’s not a fan of cats. Older, dog-savvy children might suit him, though he hasn’t been tested with kids yet, and a home without toddlers would be ideal given his youthful energy. He knows basic commands like sit and down, and he takes treats gently! While he’s not a fan of the crate at the moment, with time and positive reinforcement, he could improve.
