About Mutton

Come meet Mutton! This 7-year-old Heeler mix has spent nearly a year in our care while he underwent heartworm treatment. The good news is that heโ€™s officially heartworm-free! However, he does have a grade 4 heart murmur that requires monitoring. Mutton is an affectionate little guy who enjoys grooming sessions, car rides, and of course, treats. His entertaining way of asking for themโ€”sitting up like a little personโ€”is hard to resist. Fully potty trained and familiar with a few tricks, Mutton has lived comfortably with other small dogs, making him an excellent companion for the right home. After such a long wait for his next chapter, heโ€™s ready to exchange shelter life for cozy cuddles and a family to join. Could you be the one to give this deserving boy his happily ever after? Appointments are highly encouraged since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes. Please reach out to schedule a time to meet him. He is currently available for adoption at the Brookings Regional Humane Society. Adoption fees include vaccinations, microchipping, and other essential treatments. What are you waiting for?
