About Hank
Meet Hank! Hank is a seven-year-old Boxer who found himself here through no fault of his own; his previous owner simply didnβt have the time to care for him. This sweet-faced boy needs a specific living situation to flourish. He can get overwhelmed easily in new situations, so a calm and patient owner will be crucial for him to settle in. Hank prefers to be the center of attention and is particular about his canine friendsβhe does not get along well with dogs similar in size or older. While he has successfully cohabited with small dogs, a meet-and-greet is highly recommended if you have any at home. Hank also has a history of chasing cats off his property, so a home without felines would be ideal. He has shown that he can be loyal to those he trusts, and while he takes time to warm up, his affection is truly rewarding. Hank interacts well with children, but supervision around them is essential while he acclimates to his new environment. Currently, Hank is not neutered, and Kansas law requires that he undergo this procedure within a month of adoption. He has a condition called Cryptorchidism, which means his testicles have not descended. This condition increases the risk of testicular cancer, making prompt surgery important for his health. Hank has received some training in the past, though he may need a little refresher. He was housebroken at one point but has been living outdoors lately, so expect a few accidents as he relearns. Hank deserves a loving home where he can enjoy his senior years. If you feel that you can provide the right environment for this special boy, please visit the shelter to meet him. He's waiting for you! Your new best friend is just one click away.
