Meet Melvin, a delightful senior dog with a gentle heart and a wealth of love to share. At 10 years old, this Poodle mix is ready to enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness. Melvin arrived at rescue in tough shape, with a matted coat and fleas, but after a grooming session and time in a caring foster home, he has shown his sweet personality. Melvin adores curling up on the couch and following his favorite human around. He walks gracefully on a leash and loves his toys, especially when he can cuddle with them. A unique trait of his is sucking on blankets for comfort, possibly stemming from his past. He's comfortable in a kennel, although he hasn't needed one in his foster home. Recently neutered and given a dental cleaning, Melvin is recovering well with proper care. However, due to his grade 4 heart murmur, he requires a family who understands the importance of monitoring his health. His ideal home would have cozy couches, lots of snuggles, and perhaps some friendly dogs to share his space with.
