Meet Nelda! This sweet Poodle mix is about 8 months old and arrived at the rescue after her mom was dumped on a veteran. With a loving but overwhelmed caretaker, Nelda grew up surrounded by other dogs, and she’s proven herself to be friendly and good with them. Though she sometimes shows a little bossiness, her gentle nature makes her a great fit for families, and she’s likely to thrive around children. Currently, Nelda is participating in the Paws in Prison program, an enriching eight-week course where she learns essential skills like house training, leash walking, and obedience commands. She will graduate on December 14, but she can be adopted sooner if desired. Imagine her blossoming with all the tools she'll gain! This lovely girl is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. While she is in Arkansas, there are options for transport, making it easier for her to find her forever home. Make sure to get your application in by mid-December so you can welcome this treasure into your life!
