Meet Jackie! This charming 4-year-old, 11-pound chihuahua mix looks like a little chi-corgi and has a heart as big as her personality. Jackie was rescued as a last-call dog from the shelter due to a hernia that required emergency surgery. Thankfully, she’s made a full recovery and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home! At first, Jackie may seem a bit timid, but once she trusts you, she bonds wholeheartedly. With medium energy, she enjoys working and, when excited, her body spins, and her tail waggers vigorously. It’s uplifting to watch her joy. She gets along well with other dogs, but her laid-back demeanor makes her more of a companion than a playful pup. Her favorite pastime is snuggling with her people. If there are children in the home, they should be older and respectful, understanding how to approach her gently. Jackie needs a family that can take her on daily walks, include her in adventures, and show her the love and security she deserves. Currently in a board-and-train program, she is learning excellent leash manners and commands. Jackie is crate-trained and has the potential to be house trained, but she’ll need a consistent schedule for outdoor breaks.
