About Obi
Obi is a smart and adventurous Great Pyrenees mix, eager to find a loving home. At just over a year old and weighing around 95 lbs, he exhibits a playful spirit and a loyal heart. Obi craves affection, loves belly rubs, and thinks heβs a lap dog despite his size. He can be cautious around new people, especially men, sometimes barking out of fear, but once comfortable, heβs incredibly loving. He's great with kids, especially the 3-year-old in his foster home, although he occasionally forgets his own strength and may knock them over. Obi is playful, enjoying toys, backyard prancing, and swimming. His intelligence shines as he quickly picks up tricks and loves working for treats. He's even learned how to open gates, so you might want to secure them with carabiners. Obi is sociable with other dogs, especially the dominant female in his foster home, but he's shown some food aggression towards a large submissive male, likely due to his current underweight status. This could improve as he gains confidence. He's fully house-trained, crate-trained, and does well in the car, showing promise on the leash, though he might pull a bit. Obi would fit in wonderfully in many households, transitioning from a street dog to a snuggly companion. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
