About Winter
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Meet Winter, a gentle 6-year-old male Great Pyrenees with a heartwarming story of resilience. When he first arrived at his rescue foster home, he was frightened and in poor health, but with time, love, and the right care, Winter has made a complete transformation. He is now at a healthy weight, walks beautifully on a leash, and has perfect house manners. He loves playing with other dogs in his foster home, and it’s a joy to watch him experience moments of pure happiness. Winter cherishes the company of his people and will do a little happy dance when his foster family returns home. Although shy with new people and nervous in unfamiliar situations or loud environments, he is making steady progress every day. He sometimes seeks refuge in a closet or behind bushes, especially when learning to navigate doorways, but with some encouragement, he bravely ventures forward. Patience and understanding are key to helping Winter continue to thrive. He is currently in a foster home in DFW, Texas, is neutered, house trained, and up to date on vaccines. Winter is heartworm positive and is undergoing a slow kill treatment; medication will be provided by the rescue until he tests negative, and his activity should remain on the lower side for now. Winter is truly a beautiful soul, both inside and out, searching for a patient and loving forever home. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
