About Ernie
Meet Ernie! He’s a delightful 1-year-old mixed-breed dog who radiates joy and affection. With his long, lanky legs and medium-length apricot and beige fur, Ernie is a handsome companion who seems to have been born to bring happiness to those around him. This playful and goofy pup has an easygoing personality that makes him a joy to be with. Ernie’s journey to rescue isn't a happy one. He was found lying beside his best friend, a pittie mix who had sadly been hit by a car. Upon arriving at the shelter, Ernie was understandably withdrawn and timid. However, with some tender love and care in his foster home, he blossomed into a confident, playful social butterfly. Ernie has proven himself to be exceptionally friendly with everyone—from kids to seniors, and even other animals. He gets along beautifully with dogs and cats, and surprisingly, he doesn’t shy away from farm animals either. He’s house trained, knows how to walk nicely on a leash, and has great recall. Want to go for a hike? He’s in. A road trip? He’s ready to ride shotgun. Or if you prefer a quiet afternoon at home, he’ll snuggle right next to you as your personal weighted blanket. Ernie is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and he’s heartworm negative. He thrives socially, making him a perfect fit for almost any home—whether it be a family with children, a retired couple, or anyone looking for an adventure buddy. This sweet, silly, and uncomplicated boy is ready to be your best friend. Let’s give Ernie the loving home he deserves. Click apply to start the adoption process.
