Meet Conan! Conan is a handsome young boy ready to begin a new chapter in a loving home. Approximately 5 to 5.5 months old, he currently weighs between 20 and 25 lbs, and we estimate he will reach around 50 to 60 lbs when fully grown. While we believe he is a Hound mix, we can’t confirm his breed without a DNA test. After being found wandering with his brother Collin, Conan is now at the shelter, waiting for someone to give him the family he's been longing for. As a playful puppy, he has plenty to learn and requires guidance on potty training, basic commands, socialization, and household manners. A structured routine with patient, positive encouragement will help him thrive. Conan enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely benefit from having a furry friend at home. However, he could also adapt well as an only dog, provided his family offers ample companionship and social opportunities. Daily exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation are essential for his growth and development. He hasn’t been formally tested with cats, so prospective adopters should be aware that a feline home would require careful introductions and management. His experience with children is limited; therefore, older, respectful kids who know how to interact with an energetic pup would be the best fit. A home with access to a yard would allow Conan to play and explore safely, but it’s not a strict requirement. Apartments may be considered if his exercise and enrichment needs are met diligently. Conan needs a family that’s ready to commit to him through all stages of life. With love, structure, and patience, he has the potential to be a wonderful lifelong companion. His time at the shelter has been uncertain, and we hope to find him a comfortable home soon. Health-wise, Conan is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He is too young for heartworm testing. Please remember that Conan is currently in Texas and will be transported to his adopters after the finalized adoption. While you won’t be able to meet him beforehand, rest assured that bonding with him will be worth it. Give him the chance he deserves. Apply today!
