Meet Maya, an outgoing 6-7 year-old Australian Shepherd weighing around 45 lbs. She is part of the well-loved NOLA 7 rescue and currently enjoys life in a foster home in Austin with three other Aussies. Maya is a low to medium energy dog, known for her sweet disposition and warm personality. Though slightly shy at first, she quickly warms up, often finding a spot in your lap for some affection. Maya is a quick learner, especially if treats are involved. She’s been honing her skills in sit, stay, recall, and has even started beginner agility work, making friends along the way. Maya is wonderful with other dogs and typically ignores cats. She is crate trained and has a good balance of independence; she can roam around or chill in her crate when home alone. While she’s a little cautious around young kids, she would do well with school-age children. Maya is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on preventative medications.
