AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - SHILOH Meet Shiloh! This lovable 8-year-old Australian Shepherd is a delightful 56-pound companion. With one striking blue eye and one brown eye, his expressive personality shines through, especially when he flashes that adorable tongue. While he’s a low-medium energy dog, Shiloh believes he’s a 15-pound lap dog, making it hard not to smile around him. At home, he plays the role of a devoted shadow, eagerly following his person from room to room. His favorite spot is right in your lap for some cuddles and face kisses. After he’s had his fill of affection, he’ll settle down comfortably nearby. He respects your space at night, only joining you on the bed when invited. Shiloh is quite reliable when alone and does well unattended for short periods. However, he truly shines with companionship, whether from humans or another dog. Leaving him alone for extended workdays isn’t ideal. Shiloh enjoys a variety of toys and will engage in fetching, tug-of-war, or even an energetic game of chase. If he feels a bit neglected, he might grab a shoe just to get your attention, but he’s not a chewer. Grooming time is a pleasure for him; he loves being brushed and will tolerate nail trimming for a good pet. A daily walk and some playful moments are all it takes to keep this affectionate pup content, as long as he’s receiving love from his family. He excels at eye contact and is eager to learn. While he’s honing his leash and door manners, he responds well to reminders and is no flight risk. When off-leash, Shiloh stays close and comes when called. He's friendly with everyone—people, dogs, and cats alike. He’s curious but knows when to give space if another dog isn’t interested in playing. He’s even been known to watch the family’s yard frog from a respectful distance. Shiloh does have a couple of health considerations. He has sensitive skin that responds well to a limited ingredient diet and allergy medication, and he requires prompt attention for any skin issues. He also has hip dysplasia but compensates beautifully, enjoying light hiking and play. Currently on gabapentin and carprofen, he requires monitoring post-activity. His vet is optimistic about his future with the right care. His ongoing medications cost about $50 monthly. A loving home where someone is around during the day would be perfect for Shiloh, especially if he has another dog or family members to spend time with. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on monthly prevention. Shiloh is being fostered in Ovilla, TX.
