About Pilot
Pilot is a tiny Dachshund mix puppy overflowing with love. At just 9 months old, this little guy is deaf but that doesn't hinder his playful spirit. Rescued from an overcrowded Texas shelter, he's a friendly sweetheart who adores cuddling and following his humans around with his adorable confidence. Despite experiencing the world differently, Pilot exhibits boundless energy and smartness—perhaps even more than your average puppy. He has striking ice blue eyes, a beautiful red/tan dapple coat, and he's learning quickly using hand signals. With the help of an e-collar, he’s starting to grasp when to pause and pay attention to his humans. He loves playing, chewing toys and sticks, fetching (even if just for a bit), digging, and snuggling up close. Pilot requires a patient and kind home that can help him understand and communicate without sound. Regular vet visits will be necessary to monitor potential health issues related to his double merle genetics. This little guy needs careful protection from the sun, as he's more prone to skin problems. While he enjoys the company of dogs, people, and confident cats, caution is advised around smaller animals like guinea pigs. Pilot sleeps soundly, likes his crate, and settles down quickly when it’s needed. If you’re seeking a loveable, intelligent companion who responds to hand signals, consider adopting Pilot.
