About Dani

Meet Dani! This devoted four-year-old American Pitbull Terrier and Labrador Retriever mix is currently living in Amherst, MA. With her sleek black coat and bright white accents, she’s a striking blend of resilience and warmth, weighing in at 52 pounds. Dani’s journey began on the streets of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she faced considerable medical challenges as a young pup. With attentive care, she regained her health and has blossomed into a deeply bonded, affectionate companion. Small scars on her paws serve as gentle reminders of her past, but her spirit radiates love and loyalty. With her people, Dani is incredibly loving. She enjoys curling up beside them, often purring softly when content. Her bond with her family runs deep; she’ll follow them from room to room and offers comfort when needed with soft licks. She knows her commands — sit, stay, wait, and come. Thanks to her training with a humane trainer, she thrives on structure and guidance. Dani is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, showing respect in the home as she avoids any destructive behaviors. Dani requires a home as the only pet, as she has pronounced fear-based reactivity to other dogs. She's cautious of new situations and people, particularly unfamiliar men. Thoughtful introductions help her warm up, but without them, she may bark when startled. Dani would do best with an experienced, confident pet parent who can maintain routine in a calm environment, ideally with a fenced yard. If you work from home, Dani will happily keep you company while resting at your feet. Does this remarkable girl sound like your new companion? This could be the start of something special.
