About Rhea
Rhea (Pronounced "Ray-a") is a delightful 4.5-year-old German Shepherd and Great Dane mix currently in foster care in Austin, Texas, and she can be transported out of state once adopted. Weighing in at 70 pounds, she’s a gentle giant with a friendly and easygoing nature, making her a favorite among volunteers. Rhea loves everyone she meets, thriving on human and canine companionship. This affectionate girl enjoys walks, playtime, and simply lounging around with her people. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps soundly wherever she feels most comfortable, whether that’s on a cozy dog bed or at your feet. Rhea gets along well with other dogs, though she’d do best paired with one that is at least 40 pounds due to her playful energy. While she’s friendly with kids, we recommend a home with respectful, dog-savvy children, as she has shown interest in chasing cats from afar. Rhea truly enjoys being part of family activities, whether that's joining you on outings or following you from room to room. Moreover, she is eager to learn and is already familiar with commands like “come,” “sit,” and “stay.” If you’re looking for a loyal companion to add to your home who loves to engage and play, Rhea could be the perfect match.
