About Rhea

Meet Rhea, a delightful 4.5-year-old German Shepherd/Great Dane mix currently in foster care in Austin, Texas. She’s a large girl at 70 lbs and she’s ready for adoption with transport options available! Rhea is known for her friendly and easygoing nature, having been a favorite among volunteers at her previous shelter. She thrives in social settings, enjoying the company of both humans and other dogs. It's worth noting that while Rhea loves playing with smaller dogs, she can be a bit too rough for those under 40 lbs, so a dog of similar or larger size would be ideal. A bit of a Velcro dog, Rhea prefers being by her people’s side, whether that's on a cozy dog bed or following you around the house. She’s house-trained and crate-trained, making her a great addition to any family. Rhea also does well with children, though we recommend she meet any kids first to ensure compatibility. Rhea has shown interest in chasing cats on walks, so a cat-free home is likely best for her. She's treat-motivated and eager to please, already knowing commands like “come,” “sit,” “lay down,” and “stay.” This smart girl would love someone committed to continuing her training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will add joy to your family life, Rhea is ready to bring happiness into your home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
