About Max

Max is currently in Texas, ready to find a forever family who understands his needs. At 3.5 years old, this playful and affectionate neutered male Retriever mix weighs about 35 pounds and thrives on activity. Rescued after being abandoned, he has come a long way and is now looking for a loving home to share his big personality with. Max does well with slow introductions to other dogs and enjoys being part of a canine playgroup. He’s friendly with cats and respects their space, making him a great fit for a multi-pet household. Kids are his friends too; he’s lived with an 11-year-old and is gentle and fun-loving around children. As a high-energy boy, Max loves his long walks, games of fetch, and playtime. But he also enjoys cuddling up close to his people. His friendly demeanor does lead to a few over-the-top greetings, so his forever family should continue guiding him on appropriate ways to say hello. Fully house-trained, Max can be left uncrated at home without issues. He’s learning leash training and how to keep his excitement in check, especially when meeting new people. Max would be happiest with an active family who can provide the exercise and attention he craves. If you think you can offer Max the love he deserves, don’t hesitate to reach out!
