About Ari

Meet Ari. Ari is an 8-month-old, approximately 50-pound Pit Bull mix with a huge heart and plenty of puppy left in him. While he might take a moment to warm up to new people, he quickly reveals his sweet and affectionate nature once he feels secure. He enjoys cuddling, is very food-motivated, and is eager to learn. Since coming into foster care, Ari has made significant progress in communicating with both people and other dogs. He loves to play, has a big voice, and has learned to respect the older dogs in his foster home. With younger dogs, he is still mastering how to temper his enthusiasm with manners. With exposure to a pack of six dogs, Ari is picking up valuable social skills, often handling corrections well. Though he enjoys play, Ari is still learning when it comes to mouthing and is becoming more respectful with human interactions. He is housebroken and crate-trained but will need supervision, as his puppy antics may lead him to chew on or swallow inappropriate items. When his humans are around, Ari wants to be right beside them, ideally cuddling in their bed. He can exhibit some protectiveness, particularly in situations that trigger his insecurities, so building his confidence will be key. Ari's ideal home would be with someone experienced in handling large breeds who can continue to guide him toward becoming a well-mannered adult dog. A home with at least one calm, confident large-breed dog would also be beneficial as he thrives with canine companions.
