He's located in Cedarburg, WI, just waiting for a patient adopter who can help him thrive.
About Gus
Gus is currently searching for a foster or adopter to secure his ride to Wisconsin. He was part of an owner-surrender situation in Mississippi where he lived with around 40 other Pomeranian/Chihuahua mixes, and he’s eager for a fresh start in a loving home. At 5 years old, he has spent most of his life in an overcrowded environment, which means that the new sights and sounds of a different home may be overwhelming at first. Gus is a sweet little guy who will need a patient family. Initially shy, he may take time to adjust and build confidence. His new family should be prepared to give him reassurance and plenty of warm experiences as he learns to feel safe. Consistency and love are key as Gus discovers what it’s like to be part of a family. He will require guidance on basic skills such as potty training, crate training, and leash walking, as these are unfamiliar to him. Having a friendly, confident dog around could be beneficial during his adjustment. Gus deserves a chance to experience life beyond what he's known, and he needs someone willing to go at his pace. Questions about Gus
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Gus, being a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, is best suited for a calm environment where he can feel secure and comfortable during his adjustment period.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Gus will thrive in a smaller space, as both Pomeranians and Chihuahuas adapt well to apartments or homes with limited yard space, provided they get enough walks.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While it’s not confirmed, Gus may need a calm environment to ease into, which could be challenging with younger children. A quiet household may be best.
